Go bold but keep it simple

As I’m daydreaming for Spring/Summer to come today I decided that it was going to be summer in my SL world! I’m tired of fall and winter’s moody, cloudy shades of black and grays. With the pile of fashion magazines lying around, I’m flipping through the pages noticing the trends for Spring/Summer 2008 and to be honest these trends can hardly be called “new”. The most prevalent looks so far are downright cliché. Bright colors are listed as a “trend” every spring. The upside of these trends is they are being worn a little differently. After all they aren’t last year’s brights ... or floral patterns...or neutral shades...

As the runways try to prove this is a whole new season of style we haven’t seen, they are teaming the new “blurred” flower patterns, or neutrals with a vivid color article. My thought is to ease into the color trend by wearing one bright piece as an accent feature.
Keep in mind that certain bright colors look better on some skin tones then others, so be sure to spend time in front of the mirror and in different types of light! Remember that bright colors call attention, and sometimes a bright accessory such as a clutch purse, bracelets, or necklace can achieve the look. Have fun brightening up your look with the “new” eye-popping colors!

The one and only Yehuiah Bates!

Today I have decided to blog about Art. I’m a big fan of the Sands Sim and especially the art they exhibit at the Sands Art Shop. I’ve decided to write a bit about my partner Yehuiah Bates who as an artist himself displays his art at Sands.

Born and raised in France, Yehuiah has always had a passion for creating things. As in SL, in RL he is also a well respected Freelance Graphic Artist. Yehuiah Bates work makes a virtue of consistency. His work is intriguing, valuable, exciting, relaxing and just simple greatness. I find his work to be both humble and humbling, courageous and encouraging.

He presents a powerful selection of new and recent urban abstraction, unique digital artwork, and paper-based work, firmly locking many viewers into a state of enraptured paralysis as he incites concurrent feelings of enchantment and disturbance. It does leave plenty of room for the imagination. His well thought out genre is evolving into an international art form whose range of aesthetic approaches is clearly visible.

His splendid work hugs the walls at the Sands Art Shop. I recommend you go and take a look at his exhibition in world if you have a chance or you can simply IM him if you have any questions. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do...until next time!

Procrastination & Laziness!

As I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to write for my first blog, I just can't seem to be able to choose what topic. LOL. I must admit I'm feeling lazy which for me leads to procrastination because on this Saturday, I have much to do....so hey I'll write about that!
Procrastination
I don't want to clean the kitchen or give my dog a bath. I don't want to clean the bathroom, I don't want to go grocery shopping, and I don't want to wash the dishes. I think I'll just sit here and play a little bit more on the computer. I can do it later. It doesn't need to get done now. What's another couple of hours? What's a couple more days? What's a couple of more weeks? What's a couple of more months? Uh oh, it can't wait till next year. Time to confess I'm a procrastinator. It takes me a while to get things done. There is always something better to do. Like play on the computer. Or watch some television. Or go hang out with friends. Or read a book. Or once again play on SL. You see this is it, there is always something better to do to keep me procrastinating. Maybe I should just do what I have to get done. Gotta go clean the dishes, talk to you later! LOL
